Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about booking, cabin choices, payments, flights, transfers and life on board a Croatia or Greece small-ship cruise.

Need a hand planning your cruise?Ask us about flights, boarding ports or cabin options. We reply within 12 hours.
This is a general guide, not a substitute for your specific cruise details. Prices, inclusions, accessibility and payment or cancellation conditions vary by programme. Read the general booking conditions and the booking terms shown on your selected cruise page. Your programme-specific written offer and confirmation govern your reservation, subject to mandatory legal rights.

Booking, prices & payments

Can I pay by credit card from abroad?

Yes. We accept Visa and Mastercard, as well as bank transfers in EUR. The amount charged is in euros; your bank or card issuer may apply exchange rates and fees. Payment arrangements are confirmed personally, not through an instant online checkout.

What happens if I need to cancel or change my cruise?

Send cancellation or change requests in writing. Many standard Croatia cruises retain the 30% deposit when you cancel 60 or more days before departure and charge 100% within 59 days. Other itineraries, including M/Y Callisto and some Greece cruises, have different cancellation schedules. Check the booking conditions for your selected cruise before paying. Mandatory traveller rights always apply.

How do I reserve a Croatia cruise?

Choose a programme, vessel and departure date, then send an enquiry. We confirm the available cabin category, final fare and conditions in writing. Submitting an enquiry does not reserve a cabin or create an instant booking.

When do I pay a deposit and the balance?

For many standard Croatia cruises, a 30% deposit is due within five days of written confirmation and the balance 60 days before departure. Some itineraries have different conditions: for example, the M/Y Callisto Croatia Island-Hopping & Montenegro cruise requires 25% within seven days after written confirmation and the remaining 75% no later than 90 days before departure, including Early Booking reservations. Please follow the deadlines for your chosen programme and written offer.

Are the payment terms different for Greece cruises?

They can be. Certain published Greece programmes require a 25% deposit within seven days of written confirmation and the remaining 75% no later than 90 days before departure, including Early Booking reservations. Conditions may differ by programme; read the booking terms on the particular cruise page and your written offer.

How do Early Booking and Special Offer discounts work?

Promotions apply only to eligible ships, cabin categories, departures and booking dates. Some ships have no promotional discounts. A displayed discounted fare is not a guarantee of availability; the applicable final amount will be shown in your written offer.

Do I need travel insurance?

We strongly recommend suitable travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, travel disruption and baggage, according to your needs. Please read the policy wording and exclusions before paying for your trip.

Ships, cabins & fellow travellers

What is different about a small-ship cruise?

Smaller vessels generally offer a more personal atmosphere and access to smaller harbours than large ocean-going cruise ships. Layout, guest capacity and facilities vary by ship. Compare ship pages and complete itineraries rather than assuming every vessel is identical.

What is the difference between Lower Deck and Main Deck cabins?

Lower Deck cabins usually sit closer to the waterline and may have portholes; Main Deck cabins may have windows and different access arrangements. Sizes, bed configurations, views and comfort features vary by vessel. The exact category descriptions and photographs on your chosen ship page take precedence.

Can I choose my actual cabin number?

You can request a cabin category, such as Lower Deck or Main Deck. An individual cabin number or a particular bed layout is confirmed only if explicitly stated in writing. We will gladly record your preference, but cannot guarantee it unless confirmed.

Can I travel alone?

Yes. Solo guests are welcome. Some departures may offer single cabins; otherwise a single-use supplement usually applies and varies by ship, season and cabin. We do not automatically pair unrelated travellers in a cabin.

Can three people share a cabin?

Some ships offer triple cabins or an additional berth. Eligibility and any third-person reduction are ship-specific and shown in the quote. Promotional Early Booking discounts do not automatically apply to the third person.

Who will I meet on board?

Small-ship guests come from different countries and age groups. Many cruises are enjoyed by English-speaking international travellers, but we cannot guarantee a particular nationality mix or age profile on any departure.

Meals & everyday life on board

Which meals are included?

Included meals differ by cruise and may include breakfast, lunch, selected dinners or a captain’s dinner. Read the Included in Price section for your particular itinerary and departure rather than assuming the same meal plan across ships.

What currency is used on board for bar bills and extras?

The euro (EUR) is Croatia’s currency. Bring some euros in cash for drinks, small onboard expenses, local purchases and voluntary crew gratuities. Some vessels accept cards for onboard bills, but payment arrangements vary by ship and should be checked before departure.

Can you accommodate allergies or special diets?

Please tell us about allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements before confirming your booking. We will check what the vessel can reasonably arrange; special diets are not guaranteed unless expressly confirmed.

Can I bring food or drinks on board?

Many vessels have a bar and their own rules for food and drink brought aboard. Please ask us about your selected ship. Necessary medication, infant food and essential dietary items should be declared in advance so arrangements can be checked.

Will my cabin have air conditioning and a private bathroom?

Facilities vary between vessels and cabin categories. Air conditioning and private bathrooms are common on the ships in our collection, but please rely on your specific vessel description and written confirmation for what is provided.

Is Wi-Fi available at sea?

Wi-Fi is available on many, but not all, voyages. Internet speed and coverage can be limited while sailing or in remote bays; some vessels may restrict usage or apply charges. We do not recommend relying on onboard Wi-Fi for uninterrupted remote work.

What should I pack, and is there a dress code?

Comfortable casual clothes, swimwear, non-slip walking shoes, sun protection, a light jacket and a small day bag are useful. A relaxed smart-casual outfit is usually suitable for dinner; formal evening wear is generally unnecessary unless the itinerary says otherwise. Soft, compact luggage is often easier to store in small cabins. Check your specific ship information for any special requirements.

What power sockets should I expect?

Croatia uses European-style 230 V / 50 Hz electricity. Plug type and charging facilities may vary by vessel. Bring a suitable travel adapter and check the requirements of any essential equipment before travelling.

Should I tip the crew?

Gratuities are generally voluntary and depend on the service you receive. Any suggested amount or specific policy will be mentioned with the relevant voyage information.

Embarkation, routes & excursions

How do I find my ship on embarkation day?

Before departure you will receive the meeting point, boarding instructions and relevant contact details. Exact berths can change, so always use the most recent information rather than an old pier number or an online map alone.

Why does a cruise named Split to Dubrovnik sometimes embark in Omiš?

Some programmes use Split as the meeting point and provide an organised transfer to Omiš for boarding. The itinerary and booking information explain the actual embarkation port and transfer arrangements. Please check your chosen programme before making transport plans.

How do I get from Split or Dubrovnik Airport to the embarkation port?

Airport transfers are not automatically included in the cruise fare. We can advise on local taxis or check options for a pre-booked transfer once we know your flight details and whether you board in Split, Trogir, Omiš or Dubrovnik. Any transfer and its cost must be confirmed in your written offer; use your final boarding instructions for the exact meeting point.

What if my flight is delayed or I miss check-in?

Contact us immediately using the details in your travel documents. We will explain the available options, but joining the vessel in another port cannot be guaranteed and may result in additional expenses.

Can the ship visit different ports from those listed?

Yes. Weather, sea conditions, harbour restrictions and safety considerations can require changes. The captain is responsible for navigation and safety. Your contract and applicable legal rights continue to govern material changes.

Are swimming stops guaranteed every day?

No. Swimming opportunities depend on the day-by-day itinerary, weather, local regulations and the captain’s decision. Some sightseeing-focused days may not include a swim stop.

Are Mljet, Blue Cave and other entrance fees included?

Not always. Excursions, national park tickets and attraction admissions depend on the programme. For example, Mljet National Park can be an optional extra on some Croatia routes. Check the Included and Not Included lists and the final offer.

How much are port and tourist fees?

There is no single fee for all Croatia cruises. Many coastal programmes list around €60–€85 per person, while some short cruises specify €30 and selected specialist itineraries can cost considerably more. Port charges are not part of any advertised promotional discount. Always check the separate fee published for the exact voyage and any extra excursions or park entrance charges before booking.

Travelling from overseas

Which airport should I fly into for a cruise from Split, Trogir or Omiš?

Split Airport (SPU) serves Split and nearby Trogir. Omiš is farther south along the coast. Some cruises advertised from Split actually board in Omiš and include an organised transfer from a designated Split meeting point. Check the exact embarkation port and meeting arrangements on your selected itinerary before buying flights.

How do I get from Split Airport to the ship in Trogir or Omiš?

For Trogir, taxis and pre-booked private transfers are common options from Split Airport. For Omiš, you can ask about a direct transfer or travel via Split, but the route and cost depend on the programme. If a Split-to-Omiš transfer is included, the meeting time and location will be specified in your documents. We can help you check options; no private transfer is included unless expressly stated.

How do I reach Dubrovnik cruise port from the airport?

Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) is outside the city. Taxis, pre-booked transfers and other public transport options connect it with Dubrovnik. Many small ships embark at Gruž Port, but the precise terminal or berth may change. Follow your cruise confirmation and final boarding instructions rather than relying on a generic map pin.

Can you arrange an airport transfer or recommend where to stay?

Tell us your arrival airport, flight date, number of travellers and cruise departure. We can advise on practical transport options and check whether a transfer can be arranged or is already included. Airport transfers, hotels and other pre-cruise services are not included unless explicitly confirmed in the offer.

Should I arrive in Croatia the day before my cruise?

If you are flying from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or elsewhere on a long-haul journey, arriving at least a day before embarkation is a sensible precaution against delayed flights and missed connections. Your exact check-in time and boarding point will be sent before departure.

Which currency should I bring, and can I pay in GBP, USD or AUD?

The euro (EUR) is the official currency for Croatia and the currency in which our agency invoices and charges cruise bookings. You may view approximate GBP, USD, AUD, CAD or NZD equivalents on the website, but they are not fixed exchange rates. Bring some euros for possible onboard expenses and local purchases; card acceptance and onboard settlement methods vary by ship.

What extra costs should I budget for besides the cruise fare?

Check the specific voyage for separately charged port and tourist fees, optional excursions, national park entrances, drinks, gratuities, personal expenses, transfers and single supplements where applicable. The fare and separate mandatory charges are displayed on cruise pages where available; your written offer confirms what is included and excluded. Not all voyages are all-inclusive.

Do I need a visa or special documents for a cruise that visits Montenegro?

Entry and transit rules depend on your nationality, passport, residence status and itinerary. A cruise visiting Montenegro can involve crossing an international border even when it begins and ends in Croatia. Check current official entry requirements for Croatia, Montenegro and any transit countries before paying for flights. Passport validity requirements can differ.

Health, accessibility & travelling with others

Are the ships suitable for travellers with reduced mobility?

Many small ships have stairs, narrow passages, raised thresholds and no lifts. In some ports, guests may need to cross another moored vessel to reach the quay. Tell us about mobility or assistance needs before booking so we can check suitability for the specific vessel and route.

Can I cruise with children?

Families may be welcome on suitable departures, but policies and minimum ages vary by ship and programme. Small cruise vessels rarely offer large-ship facilities such as kids’ clubs. Children must be supervised by the accompanying adults.

Are pets allowed on board?

Do not assume pets are accepted. Policies differ between vessels and itineraries; please ask before booking and await written confirmation of any exception.

What if I get seasick?

Sea conditions vary, even in sheltered coastal areas. If you are prone to motion sickness, speak to your pharmacist or doctor about suitable prevention. Fresh air, looking toward the horizon and staying hydrated may help some travellers.

Which travel documents do I need?

You are responsible for holding valid passports or identity documents and any visas or other permissions required by the countries on your cruise. Requirements depend on nationality, destination and transit arrangements; consult official guidance before departure.

What happens if someone becomes ill on board?

Notify the crew promptly. They will follow onboard safety procedures and coordinate assistance where available. Because facilities and medical access vary, adequate medical travel insurance is important.
